During every warm Summer season, there are great photography opportunities in Whistler at the Crankworx Mountain Bike Festival. I really look forward to this annual festival because of the positive atmosphere and huge crowds. Each year I work as a photojournalist to cover the events and provide photos to the local newspapers along with some travel guides. The action sports and entertainment is great to enjoy and cover using a very long telephoto lens. The Canon 100 mm - 400 mm telephoto lens is what I use to cover the events and the great sunlight allows for fast shutter speeds. So colors are bright and photos are sharp at these great events held on Whistler mountain. The freestyle event on the second weekend is always the main event and draws the largest crowds. It is always great to stand there and listen to the crowds cheer as the lens shutter clicks away like a machine gun from the hoards of media cameras.
